Social media isn’t just for showcasing products.
It’s a powerful tool to tell stories, spark emotion, and attract the right visitors.
Here are some practical tips to use it with intention:
📸 1. Take better photos with your phone
• Use natural light: between 8–10 a.m. or 4–6 p.m. (the “golden hour”!)
• Mind your composition: apply the rule of thirds and avoid cluttered backgrounds
• Capture real emotions: a smile, a glance, an authentic action
• Include details: hands, textures, embroidery, food, tools
“A good photo doesn’t just show—it tells a story.”
📝 2. Write captions that connect
• Tell a story:
“Doña Gregoria learned to weave at age 8. Today, she teaches visitors how to join colors and memories with their hands.”
• Speak from emotion: use words like connection, memory, community, land
• Add context: Where was it? What was happening? Why is it special?
• Invite participation:
“Want to see this story with your own eyes? We’re waiting for you in Sibayo.”
🧭 3. Use hashtags and location tags
• They help more people find your content
• Mix general and specific hashtags:
#ValleDelColca #RegenerativeTourism #LiveSibayo #SoulfulTravel
💡 Inspiring example:
A tourism association in Colca shares stories of local elders, photos of rituals, and visitor testimonials on Instagram. They’re not just promoting—they’re building community.
